Helsby Football Club is pleased to announce the official launch of our Helsby FC BTEC Course in September 2026. Specifically, we have designed this programme for students who wish to train full-time as footballers while pursuing their academic studies. Consequently, this initiative marks a significant advancement in our youth development strategy.
A New Academy Pathway
Alongside the academic curriculum, we plan to introduce a new academy team to our youth section. This addition provides a clear pathway for young players to progress through the ranks. Furthermore, it allows our athletes to gain valuable experience in a competitive, professional environment.
By integrating these squads, we ensure that every player receives the tactical and physical training required for senior football. Therefore, our academy serves as the ultimate foundation for future first-team stars.
Recruitment and Senior Integration
Our player recruitment campaign will begin in July 2025 for the 2025-26 season. During this period, we will focus on integrating talented youth players into our senior setup. Specifically, this effort supports our ambitious push for promotion to the North West Counties League.
We believe that a strong youth core is essential for long-term success. Because we value internal progression, we give our BTEC students every opportunity to showcase their skills at a senior level. Consequently, our recruitment strategy prioritises local talent with the drive to succeed.
